In this video, you'll learn how to pull data entered in Power BI Metrics into your Power BI reports.
This specific case study focuses on the steps for adding Metric check-in Notes into a Power BI report aa narratives related to the Metric value on a particular date.
We then add these Metric check-in notes as a tooltip on a column chart. Next, you'll learn how to highlight which dates have notes assigned to them so it's easy to quickly identify points of interest, hover over the column and view the notes in the tooltip.
This will allow the person reading the report to obtain additional information related to points of interest in the Power BI file. For example an explanation as to why specific values were over or under a threshold value and what is happing to improve the situation.
The benefit of this approach is that you can enter Metric Notes directly into Power BI using the standard Metric check-in functionality.
