QT#73- BINNING & GROUPING Data in Power BI Visuals – What is it and How to do it Quickly and Easily

In this video, I'll cover 'Binning' and 'Grouping' data in Power BI visuals.

This is a quick and easy way to add additional aggregation to your data based on column numerical or category values.

In this example, I create bins that aggregate the number of maintenance work orders that have been at their current status for and range of dates e.g. 0-10, 11-20, 21-30 etc.

I'll explain how you can group category values to create an entirely new aggregation category. For example and create a group that groups work types into either preventative, corrective or other work.

Creating groups like this is stand in Power BI and make the job quick and easy, without having to create a new calculated column or write potentially calculated DAX code.
